Even though Africa accounts for 15% of the global population and 25% of the global disease burden, the region only produces about 2% of the world’s research output. We work with government leaders on policies that will support research to solve current and future health threats. We also work to elevate the importance of global health research and development on political agendas, with an eye on securing sustainable financing for these efforts. To do this, we work with civil society organizations and trusted African scientists to enhance their advocacy and communication capacities to ensure the greatest impact.
